Prenatal Care

Having your baby naturally

Many women come to us during pregnancy because they want to avoid C-Sections, forceps, and other interventions that cause unnecessary trauma for infants during birth. We know that chiropratic care can prepare the body for delivery, maximizing space in the womb and optimizing nerve and muscle function. It’s important to begin chiropractic care as early in the pregnancy as possible, as it takes time to correct and condition the body to function as it should.

the best start possible

A body stuck in stress mode cannot be in growth and development at the same time. Pregnancy is the most important time in life to be under chiropractic care. Women who get adjusted during pregnancy report reduced morning sickness and sciatica, better sleep, and improved mood.

Chiropractic care also aids in the proper development of the baby. When the body is misaligned, putting pressure on vital nerves, signals in the body might not make it all the way to the brain. When the brain is not receiving timely and accurate information from the body, it can’t regulate bodily processes as well as it should. This is doubly important when your body is working overtime to grow another human being! Our job is to correct misalignments that interfere with nerves, freeing the body to do what it needs to do. When all vital functions are optimized, it results in healthy, well-developed babies and natural, comfortable pregnancies.

Webster Technique

Dr. Phil has been certified since 2007 in the Webster Technique — a specific analysis and adjusting technique with a three-prong approach (osseous, ligamentous and muscular) to allow optimal stability, strength, and alignment of the pelvis and uterus during pregnancy, labor, and delivery.

This caring approach can aid in labor by reducing round ligament pain and uterine torsion, as well as allowing optimal space for baby’s growth and development during pregnancy.

Giving Your Baby the Best Start Possible

The modern birth process is often one of the most traumatic events that a person will endure in their life. Unfortunately today, many health care providers choose to look at pregnancy as a medical condition to be managed, rather than the completely natural process that it should be.

It doesn’t have to be like this.

A woman’s body is designed perfectly for the birth process, and difficulties typically only arise if mom is functioning at less than one hundred percent.

FAQ

Is it safe to get adjusted during pregnancy?

Not only is it completely safe for both mother and baby, chiropractic actually increases the chances of a safe labor and delivery.

You should never wait to get adjusted! We can adjust moms in all stages of pregnancy, and we recommend you start chiropractic care as soon as possible so your body has time to get the maximum benefits from your adjustments.

Dr. Phil has been proudly Webster certified since 2007.

The Webster method is not a baby-flipping technique, and we will never guarantee that your baby will change position. However, many mothers that we have adjusted using the Webster method have found their babies in the proper, head-down position before birth. This is because the Webster technique is designed to maximize space in the womb, allowing the baby to reposition itself naturally.

Right away! Chiropractic care can help make postpartum recovery easier and quicker. We have had moms come in to get adjusted on their way home from the hospital.

Our doctor adjusted all three of his own children on the day they were born. He can do the same for yours! Birth is hard on a baby’s spine, especially their cervical (neck) area. It is never too early to get your child adjusted.
